Good Book but needs an Editor

This book has such promise and could be a great book but it needs an editor badly. The story is a good one, who is going to find an artifact that leads to untold riches the good guys or bad guys. The book reminds me of the way Clive Cussler tells a story with starting out in the past and tying that to the present. What I was having a hard time with is that the author gets caught up in all the minutiae of a scene. Some details are necessary for the story all the others just bogs the story down. There were several instances that I felt that I was reading a travel brochure. He could have set up the scene in one sentence instead of a whole paragraph. In the beginning of chapter 32 he does this plus the author jumps from one scene back to another and then back to the previous scene. It made no sense and interrupted the flow of the story. The author should have taken the first paragraph and a half and put that thread of thought on the next page instead of jumping back and forth. Like I said a good editor would have caught that.
All in all, the book deserves a second glance if you don't mind being told about every little thing in a scene regardless if it is needed for the progression of the book. I know that the author wanted to let the reader understand the flavor of the scene but sometimes less is more.

annoying sudden end

Skip it. I don't mind series mysteries that carry character development and backstory from novel to novel, but I really dislike books like this that end in the middle of the story. It's sneaky. The authors of these kinds of novels are not selling a book, but trying to sucker you into a long term subscription.
Worse is the lumping of all Native Americans together and 'theorizing' they came from Egypt. Let's put all that nonsense to bed forever.

This was okay. It was a quick read and had some interesting theories about the origin of the native Americans. Grammar was poor at times and it could be re-edited.
