Helpful edition

This edition provides helpful information that "sets the stage" for the novel, with information about Charlotte and the other Brontes. The information helps to put this novel and her work in general into perspective, especially if you like British works from that era. And as for the novel itself - it's a wonderful counterpoint to some of the other works written around the same time. It's a wonderful read for rainy days when you can allow herself to "fall into" this world that seems so different from modern times and yet still speaks volumes about the value each life has and the right each individual has to love and be loved.

These types of books are best when there is not a lot of extraneous words.
The author sticks to the point, tells you about the option and gives you a link to get there.

A classic, as long as you like classics

Yes, Jane Eyre is a classic, and it's worth the effort if you haven't read it! A good view into the way society worked in a different time. It's a little difficult to read, though the Kindle version has lots of notes and explanations (sometimes too many) on some of the uncommon words, translations of French sentences, and even explanations of where a word or phrase comes from or what it references. However, there's always at least a few errors in a Kindle book, and this one is no exception. Nothing that changes or damages the story, but the errors are there. And if you're like me, I notice them when I find them and it annoys me. But like I said, not a deal breaker at all. This is a good (though long) story, I enjoyed the character development, and there is interesting commentary on society, which adds interest. I had not read this in high school or college, so I'm glad I read it now!
