too many cheap garbage ingredients (corn syrup???)

and some pre-prepared substitutes for homemade -- altho I did find several more healthy items which actually sounded good enough to want to try! e.g., sweet potato scones made from scratch ...
if your main interest is focused on the *easy* aspect of throwing together some pile you hope passes for food, then perhaps more of these lower quality or highly processed manufactured 'food' ingredient recipes might have some real appeal for you ...
but I've been more and more keen to clean up my diet and dump as much of the junk, less-than-nutritious, processed items as possible.
look around! I think too many of us need to do a lot of work on what we stuff into our poor malnourished and often overweight if not obese or morbidly obese struggling abused bodies!
I've been gradually losing weight myself just by deliberately choosing more healthy real food to sustain my body; e.g., more fruits and vegetables, preferably fresh, etc -- just like healthy folks keep telling us!
maybe I shouldn't have picked on this "easy" recipe cookbook to start in on this "free lecture hohoho!", but really it just happened that way-- spontaneously!

An innovative recipe book with ideas for sweet and savoury, mall and large amounts for differently sized families and also visitors, plus many recipes to have for lunch or tea and even to offer as donations to bazaars features or for charity raffles.
Most were from scratch and very quick to rustle up, one even to prepare in advance which is always useful.
I took one star as there were a few that used some ready-made ingredients and I always prefer to make myself so as to ensure as few additives and preservatives as possible.
I will however, be rushing away to play with these ideas as soon as possible. The amounts can be halved or doubled I am sure, and, I should like to experiment with an egg substitute too.
