A Prince Among Men-A Joyfully Recommended Title!!

Sgt. Ryan Pettit is in the middle of his deployment to Afghanistan and while he is a career military man and will do what is needed for his country, every day is starting to fell the same. The only thing that seems to be breaking up the monotony is his military blog "Groundpounder" and the woman who he seems to be connecting with over the internet. Vicky V replies to each and every one of his blogs.
Vicki Vanover is determined to get to the real story about women in Afghanistan. She will even travel into the war zone in hopes of interviewing a woman or two in the countryside. She has been doing her homework by reading all she can on Afghanistan including the milblog of "Groundpounder", who she thinks is a fantastic writer.
When circumstances throw Ryan and Vicki together, will they be able to keep their attraction in check? Especially with Vicki being the only woman in the remote outpost? Additionally, there seems to be something a little odd about some of the British officers that are now joining them. They seem a little overly concerned about the security of one of their officers. But, in the end no one pays too much attention to this until things go horribly wrong. Will they all survive and will Vicki and Ryan be able to figure out their feelings for each other if they do?
I have no idea where Ms. Johnson gets all her story lines for her stories but she should patent the source as she has another fantastic winner in A Prince Among Men. I have to say she has a HUGE fan in me and this series. From the first book in the series to A Prince Among Men there are different twists and turns to the story lines as well as a chunk of reality thrown in about life in a war zone. I loved how Ms. Johnson wove in the pre meeting (online) of these two characters as well as how they resolve their differences. I managed to start this story late enough one night that I was forced to endure work on less than 3 hours of sleep as I couldn't put it down. Since I cannot give a higher rating than a Joyfully Reviewed I guess I will settle for that (maybe I can lobby for Joyfully Reviewed plus). I look forward to the next story in the Task Force Zeta Series, and until then will re-read A Prince Among Men.

You knew immediately who "Wales" was, but the story is a very good description of life on tour duty in a war zone. The mental strain it has on the people in service. I liked how this brings in others from previous books. The title is a bit misleading as you don't get much of the "Wales" story.

A Prince Among Men held me from the first page to the very last page! I have loved Ryan since we were first introduced to him and Vicki was such a great match. I can't believe I waited so long to read this series but I plan on reading many more of Cat Johnson’s books as she has fast become one of my favorite authors.
